An alumni of Boston College High School, Donny was a standout player at Holy Cross, where he was a 4 year member of the starting pitching rotation. As a freshman, he won the team's Ron Succi Award for Rookie of the Year, was selected as a sophomore to the Patriot League All-Tournament team and continued top achievements as a junior and senior being named to the Patriot League All-Conference team. Donny concluded his career ranking in Holy Cross' record books as third all-time in innings pitched (241.0), strikeouts (183) and games started (37).  


Donny's achievements at Holy Cross earned him a contracted spot on the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod League in 2013 where he posted a 2.45 ERA with 19 strikeout's in 22 innings pitched.  He would return to the Commodores in 2014 where he would help the team return to the CCBL Championship game for the first time since 2011. 


After graduating from Holy Cross in May 2015, Donny signed a contract with the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League where he served as both a starting and relief pitcher.
